An adaptive deadbeat (ADB) controller was developed to investigate its capability in providing a fast frequency response to an electrical power system. This controller was developed to meet the requirements of the National Grid System Operability Framework (SOF), which requires frequency to be accelerated in line with a fast rate of change of frequency (RoCoF) when a high rate of nonsynchronous machines are presented. The controller’s parameters were optimized using particle swarm optimization (PSO) to ensure a robust operation and to maintain the proper operation of the power system. The design of the ADB controller was then integrated with the multiarea model of the north and south zones of Scotland. This model was developed in order to conform to the future energy requirements scenario stated by National Grid whereby regional control can be provided in both the north and south of Scotland. In comparison with the standard PI and Fuzzy-PI controllers used in the four highlighted case studies, it was shown that the ADB controller was able to significantly reduce the RoCoF and deviation of frequency when a sudden loss of generation occurred in a low inertia zone. The ADB also showed high robustness against a wide range of operating conditions.  相似文献

3D video for tele-medicine applications is gradually gaining momentum since the 3D technology can provide precise location information. However, the weak link for 3D video streaming is the necessary wireless link of the communication system. Neglecting the wireless impairments can severely degrade the performance of 3D video streaming that communicates complex critical medical data. In this paper, we propose systematic methodology for ensuring high performance of the 3D medical video streaming system. First, we present a recursive end-to-end distortion estimation approach for MVC (multiview video coding)-based 3D video streaming over error-prone networks by considering the 3D inter-view prediction. Then, based on the previous model, we develop a cross-layer optimization scheme that considers the LTE wireless physical layer (PHY). In this optimization, the authentication requirements of 3D medical video are also taken into account. The proposed cross-layer optimization approach jointly controls and manages the authentication, video coding quantization of 3D video, and the modulation and channel coding scheme (MCS) of the LTE wireless PHY to minimize the end-to-end video distortion. Experimental results show that the proposed approach can provide superior 3D medical video streaming performance in terms of peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) when compared to state-of-the-art approaches that include joint source-channel optimized streaming with multi-path hash-chaining based-authentication, and also conventional video streaming with single path hash-chaining-based authentication.  相似文献

The Shannon-Nyquist sampling theorem for deterministic signals is a fundamental result in the field of telecommunication and signal processing, and many re- sults on this topic have been obtained. However, very few results on random signals have been published, after Kol- mogorov mentioned the importance of Shannon-formula for stochastic signals in 1956. In this paper, following the almost sure result for bandlimited stochastic processes pro- posed by Seip in 1990, we give an almost sure result of the classical sampling theorem for bandlimited random signals with local average sampling.  相似文献

Ozone molecules present in high-purity oxygen as a feed gas interact with surfaces and oxygen molecules in an enclosed container. Therefore, some of the ozone molecules are destroyed and the density of ozone decreases with time. An experimental system has been constructed to monitor the temporal decrease in ozone density in a container based on the HgI 254 nm photoabsorption method. Our investigation is focused on the dependence of the effective lifetime of ozone on the wall material at various gas pressures. During the experiments, distortion of the measured decay curves often caused by instabilities in the mercury lamp intensity. We thus attempted to build a simple setup that eliminates the effect of long-term intensity drift. This setup is based on light source intensity monitoring by a separate photodetector and data correction software. This article describes the setup of the experimental apparatus, the results including some preliminary experiments and the temporal variation of the surface loss rate of ozone by repeated measurement along with inspections of the wall surface by Auger electron spectroscopy.  相似文献

Catalytic and kinetic study of methanol dehydration to dimethyl ether   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Dimethyl ether (DME), as a solution to environmental pollution and diminishing energy supplies, can be synthesized more efficiently, compared to conventional methods, using a catalytic distillation column for methanol dehydration to DME over an active and selective catalyst. In this work, using an autoclave batch reactor, a variety of commercial catalysts are investigated to find a proper catalyst for this reaction at moderate temperature and pressure (110–135 °C and 900 kPa). Among the γ-alumina, zeolites (HY, HZSM-5 and HM) and ion exchange resins (Amberlyst 15, Amberlyst 35, Amberlyst 36 and Amberlyst 70), Amberlysts 35 and 36 demonstrate good activity for the studied reaction at the desired temperature and pressure. Then, the kinetics of the reaction over Amberlyst 35 is determined. The experimental data are described well by Langmuir–Hinshelwood kinetic expression, for which the surface reaction is the rate determining step. The calculated apparent activation energy for this study is 98 kJ/mol.  相似文献

LiCoO2 nano-particles precursor was synthesized through a mixed-alkalis (LiOH-NaOH) hydrothermal reaction, and finally sintered into LiCoO2 nanobricks with a sickness of ~300?nm. This LiCoO2 nanobrick cathode delivered a specific capacity of 131.8 mAh g?1 at 1?C between 3.0 and 4.2?V and 90% capacity retention after 100 cycles. Those synthesized LiCoO2 nanobricks were further treated by surface Al3+ doping to achieve much enhanced 4.5?V lithium storage capability and cycling stability. EIS results showed the surface Al3+ doping operation can signification decrease the charge-transfer resistances of the LiCoO2 cathodes for both before and after cyclings.  相似文献

NaNbO3 is explored as a potential candidate for catalysis due to its excellent piezoelectricity. However, its photocatalysis is significantly limited for the inherent characteristics of wide band gap. In this work, NaNbO3 and Ag dots-modified NaNbO3 micron-sized powders are prepared and applied in piezo-photocatalysis to explore the coupling effects. The results show that the piezocatalysis degradation efficiency of RhB solution (the initial concentration C0 = 5 mg/L) reaches 92.3% within 30 min, and the rate constant k is 0.0889 min?1. The efficiency of piezo-photocatalysis degradation reaches 92.7% in 25 min, and the rate constant k is 0.11 min?1 for NaNbO3. The rate constant k of Ag dots-modified NaNbO3 for piezo-photocatalytic degradation of RhB (C0 = 5 mg/L) is increased to 0.16314 min?1. The optical and electrochemical activities of NaNbO3-0.75hAg are studied to reveal the role of Ag nanoparticles. The band gap of NaNbO3 is 3.59 eV, which is decreased to 3.36 eV after the modification with Ag dots. The lower band gap means that e? in the valence band is more easily excited to shift the conduction band, which is beneficial to the photocatalytic reaction process. In addition, NaNbO3-0.75hAg has a higher photogenerated carrier density, a faster electron-hole pair separation and transfer rate, which are beneficial to the catalytic oxidation process. The work provides a useful means to decease the band gap of NaNbO3 and achieve outstanding piezo-photocatalysis for degradation of hazardous organic dyes in contaminated water.  相似文献
